the wheels are moving…

So the time has come and in a few weeks I will be moving half way across the world to the city you see above. I’ve been presented with an amazing opportunity, and will be working for one of the worlds biggest sports and lifestyle brands as their European marketing co-ordinator. The whole thing has been in the works for some time now, and I really looking forward to what lies ahead. The new job will mean a move away from the skate industry to something a little closer to my heart (bikes), so I’m really excited about that as well. This change will also bring on some new creative outlets for myself, so you can expect some interesting new content up in my portfolio in the coming months. Stay tuned for more…

My KFD illustration up at Rust store

The “Search and Destroy” illustration I did for KFD has been used as a window graphic for Rust Store in Cape Town. I apologise for the shady photos but they are mobile phone pics sent through by the store owner. They have used contra vision so that folks can still see out of the store, but apparently its nice and bright when you see it in the flesh. Pretty stoked to see a graphic of mine blown up this big and in the public eye. Full length pics after the jump. MORE

Highway Collective Site and Shirts

Ive been working on a bunch of stuff lately for the Highway Collective. First up was their web site which has now gone live (You can see it HERE), and then I did 4 new T-shirt graphics for them. All of the designs we vector illustrations, and if was pretty fun working with a limited colour pallet for each design. Three of the four designs are single colour prints, with only one being a two colour print. I will add all the illustrations to my portfolio shortly, but for now you can see some samples after the jump. MORE

Finally finished!

So those of you who have been following my blog will know Ive been busy building up my Fixie. Well after finding the cranks in Durban I finally had all the bits I needed to finish it. As soon as I got home I started building it up and Im really please with how it turned out. Ive been told its suicide to ride them without toe clips, and based on my first few outings I can see why! I’ll probably pick some up this weekend and commence with the shredding.

Great Success!

cranks

Those of you who follow my blog will know I’ve been building up my fixie for the last two months or so. All was going well until I had to find some cranks for it. None of the local bike stores had cranks that were suitable, and the few sets I traced online were all too long (yes, Im very fussy when it comes to setting up my bikes). I was about to throw some silly money at a set on the internet but decided to wait until the new year… Anyway, Im currently down at the coast on holiday and thought I’d stop by an old bike shop I sued to visit when I was a kid. Turns out they had NOS sugino 75 track cranks in stock! In the exact length I wanted! And the price was a steal! Im stoked to say the least, and I’ll be bolting these up to the steed as soon as Im back home.
